Copeland Center Summit has ended
Welcome to the Copeland Center Summit: WRAP, Peer Support, and Community!

Nicole Darr

Nicole is currently the Program Manager for ICAN at the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania (MHASP). ICAN works to nurture recovery oriented services and supports for people in mental health recovery. ICAN works closely with the Institute for Recovery and Community Integration, the training institute of MHASP, which provides Certified Peer Specialist, WRAP, and other trainings throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.

Nicole also serves on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PAPSRS) as conference co-chair for the 2013 PAPSRS conference.

From March 2008-May 2011, Nicole worked on a statewide level with the Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers’ Association as the Pennsylvania Peer Support Coalition (PPSC) Coordinator. She coordinated the PPSC for three years, helping to bring the Coalition from a concept to a reality, strengthening networking and employment opportunities for peer support specialists across Pennsylvania. When she first started with the Coalition, we had a volunteer committee and a set of objectives developed at a statewide summit. Today the Coalition has an elected, representative steering committee; membership; a mission and vision statement; a quarterly electronic newsletter; a website; and quarterly continuing education trainings.

In her role as PPSC Coordinator, I served on statewide workgroups, built partnerships; helped implement a statewide survey; coordinated statewide trainings; distributed scholarships; presented workshops; facilitated planning groups; provided information to individuals (throughout the state and the country); and provided technical assistance to groups engaged with peer support.
