Supervising Peer Programs

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This workshop is intended for anyone who is using CPSs in their programs. A CPS has a unique job that is different from the usual way treatment has been given to folks. This workshop will explain the role of a CPS and how because it is different ...the supervision of CPSs is different as well. Will be able to help Supervisors get the best out of the CPSs they have working with them and talk about how they can support them. We will discuss challenges and successes and how having a CPS on your team can help with all other aspects of folks treatment. Will share my own experiences as a CPS and the supervision I received and compare that to now being a Program Manager of a whole team of CPSs and how I supervise them. This workshop will help CPSs and their supervisors understand how to best work with each other.

There are 3 outcomes I would like to have
  1) making sure that everyone understands what a CPS is and what their job is
  2) showing ways that supervisors can support their CPS
  3) give ideas and suggestions on how to deal with challenges that arise with CPSs
