Improv Skills in Peer Support

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Improv performance has weaved its way through popular culture sense the 1950’s; from UCB in Chicago and 2nd City in New York (the jumping off point for many SNL stars) to “Who’s Line is it Anyway?”, we’ve all been positively touched by the zany antics of Theatre Games.  What many folks don’t realize is how improv can improve our skills in providing mutual peer support.  In this fun interactive workshop, we will stretch our skills  with time tested exercises that have built strong supportive on stage relationships in the  ever changing world of Improvisational performance.

Objectives:
1. Participants will build their comfort level accepting, and working in newly defined realities.

2. Participants will gain an increased ability to adapt to quickly changing circumstances.

3. Participants will learn the benefit of play for increasing our own wellness and to reduce compassion fatigue and burnout.
