Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This discussion will center on how people who have both and intellectual disability and mental health challenges can benefit from the tools that people without intellectual challenges have found useful.  I will help to define the population for the group, talk about the concept of Everyday Lives and how that relates to Recovery and discuss experiences over the past five years in bring the concepts of Recovery, Certified Peer Specialists and the WRAP tools to this population.  Short video clips will be used to illustrate who people who have intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges are as well as one of an interview with a CPS who has had some enlightening thoughts about working with people who have both conditions.  I will be most interested in hearing the thoughts of the audience about people who have intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges and what their lived experience might be, how they think tools and concepts can be adapted and introduced.
